Oil prices fell on Tuesday after rising the previous day due to production halts at Norway's Johan Sverdrup oil field, amid investor caution over fears of a possible escalation in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Brent crude futures for January delivery fell seven cents, or 0.1 percent, to $73.37 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures for December delivery also fell seven cents, or 0.1 percent, to $69.23 a barrel.
The most traded January West Texas Intermediate crude contract fell four cents, or 0.1%, to $69.21.
