$ 4.4 Trillion in the Size of the Assets of the Sovereign Funds Of the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries

The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, revealed that the size of the assets of the sovereign wealth funds of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is about $ 4.4 trillion, equivalent to 34 percent of the total assets of the 100 largest sovereign wealth funds in the world.

During his speech at the 67th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee, in the Qatari capital, Doha, Al-Budaiwi stressed that the GDP of the GCC countries for 2023 reached approximately $ 2.1 trillion, which makes them collectively in the ranks of developed countries in terms of the size of GDP. The total volume of intra-GCC trade for 2022 amounted to more than $ 127 billion.

He pointed out that the total volume of trade exchange, which does not include intra-GCC trade, for the year 2022, amounted to more than 1.5 trillion dollars.
