The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released new data for 2024 showing expectations regarding inflation rates in Arab countries for the year 2025, as the figures revealed large disparities in expected inflation rates between countries.
The IMF expects Sudan to record the highest inflation rates in the Arab region during 2025 at about 119 percent, although it will decline from this year's levels estimated at about 200 percent. While the Fund expected inflation rates during the current year to reach 200.1 percent, an increase of about 123 percent with an annual comparison.
Egypt comes in second with an expected inflation rate of 21.2 percent. On the other hand, Qatar was the Arab country least affected by inflation according to expectations, with only 1.4 percent expected to register, reflecting relative economic stability supported by a strong energy sector, and stability in local markets.
