Gold hit an all-time high on Wednesday as investors turned to the yellow metal as a safe haven less than a week before the US presidential election while awaiting economic data for clues on the US Federal Reserve's expected decision on interest rates.
Spot gold rose 0.2% to $2,779.39 an ounce, after hitting an all-time high of $2,782.03 earlier in the session. U.S. gold futures rose 0.4% to $2,791.70.
