Oil prices rose more than 1% on Thursday, recovering losses in the previous session as renewed concerns about tensions in the Middle East ahead of the U.S. presidential election.

Brent crude futures rose 95 cents, or 1.27%, to $75.91 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 1.41% to $71.77 a barrel, amid supply concerns after a heavy exchange of fire between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group.

Crude prices have risen nearly 4 percent this week, recouping last week's losses of more than 7 percent due to concerns about demand in China and a reduced prospect of supply disruptions from the Middle East.
