Households and businesses in major economies are struggling to recover from a period of high inflation, according to research by the Financial Times.

The results of the Global Economic Recovery Tracking Index indicate a sharp decline in confidence indicators, in light of weak growth prospects, political instability, and conflict in the Middle East.

At the same time, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva warned against a combination of low growth and high debt, stressing the urgent need to address deteriorating financial conditions globally.

Despite the strong performance of some economies, such as the United States and India, others, such as Germany, are facing a significant decline in economic activity and confidence.
