Oman: Public Revenues Decline and Spending Increases

The Ministry of Finance recorded a decline in public revenues until the end of July 2024 by about RO 29 million (US$ 75.4 million) compared to the same period in 2023, in addition to a decrease in current revenues collected until the end of the same month by about RO 120 million (US$ 312 million).

On the other hand, the volume of public spending until the end of July 2024 increased to reach RO 6.754 million (US$ 17.55 billion), up by RO 273 million (US$ 616.2 million), or 4%, compared to actual spending in the same period of 2023 of RO 6 billion and RO 481 million (US$ 16.85 billion), which was justified by the Ministry of Finance by the increase in development spending and expenditures under contributions and other expenditures.
