Oil prices rose on Tuesday amid fears that the escalating conflict could affect supplies in the Middle East, as well as the possibility of a tropical storm affecting production in the United States, the world's largest crude producer, later this week.

Brent crude futures for November rose 21 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $74.11 a barrel.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures for November rose 24 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $70.61. Crude closed lower on Monday amid concerns about demand.
