Annual Inflation in Morocco Records 1.7%

Morocco's High Commission for Planning revealed that the Kingdom's annual inflation rate, as measured by the consumer price index, rose to 1.7 percent in August from 1.3 percent in the previous month.

Food prices, the main driver of inflation, rose 2 percent from a year earlier. Non-food inflation also rose 1.4 percent.

Core inflation, which excludes more volatile goods, rose 0.3 percent on a monthly basis and 2.6 percent on a yearly basis.
