According to CBE data, the net profits of Egypt's top 10 commercial banks rose to EGP 230.680 billion by the end of June 2024. The Big Ten banks account for 79.7 percent of the total profits of banks in the banking sector, which recorded 289.40 billion pounds at the end of the first half.
Major Banks include Al Ahly of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, Arab African International, Commercial International, National Bank of Qatar, Alexandria, Faisal Islamic, The United Bank and HSBC. The assets of the top 10 banks recorded about 15.180 trillion pounds by the end of June, accounting for 78.5 percent of the banking sector's assets of 19.3 trillion pounds.
The total deposit balances in these banks also recorded about EGP 9.3 trillion, while customer lending balances reached EGP 5.6 trillion by the end of June 2024.
