The latest data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that Egypt's trade balance deficit decreased by 10.3 percent in May 2024, reaching $ 3.57 billion, compared to about $ 3.98 billion in the same month last year.
According to the center, the reason for this decline in the trade balance is due to an increase in exports by 0.4 percent, especially in the fruits, vegetables, and clothing sectors, in addition to a decrease in imports by 5.1 percent as a result of the decline in imports of some basic commodities. Egyptian revenues during the period from May 2023 to May 2024 decreased from $ 7.7 billion to $ 7.38 billion.
