The Moroccan government and workers in tourist and hotel establishments are betting on expatriates to revive tourism this summer, especially since expatriates last year accounted for more than half of arrivals to the kingdom. According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, expatriates accounted for 45.8 percent in the first half of this year, among 7.4 million tourists.
The Central Bank of Morocco expects the revenues of foreign tourists and expatriates to continue to rise this year, reaching about $ 11 billion, which will contribute to supporting the Kingdom's balance of foreign exchange, reaching $ 38.2 billion, representing five and a half months of imports of goods and services.
