HSBC Group has appointed Georges Al Hadiri as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Group, who will take office on the second of September Al Hadiri, the current CFO, will replace outgoing President Noel Quinn.
The bank unexpectedly announced in late April that Quinn would leave his post after nearly five years in the role.
Al Hadiri 's appointment as CEO comes less than two years after he was promoted to CFO in January 2023. He will continue to serve as Group Chief Financial Officer during the transition period. Al Hadiri has worked in multiple regions, including Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. According to the bank, Al Hadiri showed his strategic vision and deep international views, and therefore the Board of Directors considered him a distinguished candidate.
