The US research firm Gartner predicted that the Middle East and North Africa's spending on information technology will witness a jump this year, confirming the keenness of governments to shift in the field of digitization quickly.
According to forecasts, the Arab region's spending this year will reach about $ 193.7 billion, an increase of 5.2 percent year-on-year and down from the growth rate recorded last year of 6.6 percent. Despite the improvement in the volume of investments in this field during 2022, which exceeded $ 2 billion in the Arab markets compared to about $ 1.2 billion during 2019 and 2020, this figure is still far from contributing to development plans. Regional spending on IT services is expected to increase by 9.6 percent in 2024.
