An estimate issued by the World Bank revealed that the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has caused damage worth about $ 18.5 billion in the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip.

In its non-definitive assessment of the damage, the World Bank indicated that the figure represents 97 percent of the combined economic output of the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip in 2022, while the aggression left 26 million tons of rubble, which is expected to take years to remove. The report showed that building damage affects every sector, with housing accounting for 72 percent of costs. Infrastructure for public services such as water, health, and education accounts for 19 percent.

More than one million people are homeless, 75 percent of the population is displaced, while more than half of Gaza's population is on the brink of famine, with the entire population suffering from severe food insecurity and malnutrition.
