Consumer prices in the United States rose last month, indicating that inflation remains a challenge for the Federal Reserve.

Prices rose 0.4 percent in January-February, higher than the previous month's figure of 0.3 percent, as gasoline and shelter, including rents, contributed more than 60 percent to the monthly increase. Compared to the previous year, consumer prices rose 3.2 percent last month, faster than January's annual pace of 3.1 percent.
