The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Qatar's growth to average around 5.5 percent over the medium term, supported by a significant expansion in liquefied natural gas (LNG) production.

In its report on Article IV consultations with Qatar, the IMF expects growth to continue in the near term, supported by growth in non-hydrocarbon sectors thanks to investment in public projects and the North Field LNG expansion project. Real GDP growth is also expected at 1.9 percent in 2024 after an estimated growth of 1.6 percent last year.

Non-oil GDP is expected to grow by 2 percent this year after an estimated growth of 1 percent in 2022.
