Data from the Overseas Investment Promotion Agency revealed an upward growth in foreign investment in Tunisia since the beginning of this year, supporting the authorities' plans to stimulate the struggling economy.
The figures on the growth of new investments during the first nine months of 2023 reflect that something is tempting for venture capitalists to continue expanding their portfolios despite negative international assessments that give an unreassuring view to investors, especially international ones.
According to the data, the local market attracted 1.86 billion dinars ($590 million), which means a growth of 13.1 percent year-on-year.
Foreign investments were distributed to $ 43.3 million for portfolio investments compared to $ 1.78 million in an annual comparison.
