Egypt's Core Inflation Slows To 38.1 Percent

Egypt's core inflation eased to 38.1 percent in October, from 39.7 percent in September.

Central Bank of Egypt data showed that the core consumer price index recorded a monthly rate of 1.8 percent in October 2023 compared to 3.0 percent in the same month of the previous year, and a rate of 1.1 percent in September 2023.

On the other hand, core inflation data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt showed a decline in annual consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities, to record 35.8 percent in October, down from a record high of 38 percent in September. On a monthly basis, the pace of price rises slowed to one percent in October from 2 percent in September.
