Members of the "National People's Assembly" in Algeria approved the draft corrective finance law for the year 2023, which included taking care of additional regular expenditures related mainly to measures aimed at preserving the purchasing power of families, enhancing food security, and supporting the public investment program for the benefit of some states.

The bill expects budget revenues to increase by about 13 percent, in parallel with expectations that the balance of payments will record a surplus of $7.1 billion. Exports are expected to reach $52.8 billion in 2023, while imports are expected to reach $41.5 billion. With regard to the economic growth rate, it is expected to reach 5.3 percent this year, driven by the growth of the hydrocarbon sector, while the gross domestic product outside the hydrocarbon sector recorded a growth of 4.9 percent.
