The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that the economy of Guyana, a South American country, will grow at the fastest pace globally, with GDP projections indicating that the country's economy is on track to grow by more than 100 percent by 2028, driven largely by profits from oil production and the export sector.
Forecasts showed that the economy of Guyana, which has a population of about 800,000, could grow by 38 percent by the end of the year, a pace that is "very fast."
Andrew Trahan, head of risk management for Latin America at BMI, a subsidiary of Fitch Solutions, said: "Guyana will see tremendous growth this year."
