The Union of Arab Chambers participated in the workshop organized by the "Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency" and the "Friedrich Ebert Foundation" on sustainable transformation of the energy system during the period 24-27 July in Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, in the presence of representatives and experts. One of the organizing institutions, with the participation of a group of specialists and researchers in the field of renewable energies and sustainable development.
The workshop opened with a speech by Dr. Jawad Al-Kharraz, Executive Director of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, in which he praised the importance of investing in renewable energy projects. He expressed the need to intensify the efforts of Arab countries to solve the energy crisis in the Arab world.
The interventions and discussions centered over the course of four days on the principles of energy transition and the extent of energy interdependence with water and food, with a focus on the issue of financing energy projects and the importance of innovation, taking into account the environmental and social circumstances. In conclusion, some pioneering and successful initiatives were presented in the Arab region, and the great role played by policies and laws in directing and developing renewable energy projects was commended.
