UNCTAD's latest Global Investment Report 2023 showed that foreign investment flows to the UAE rose by 10 percent to $23 billion, the highest level ever recorded. The UAE received the fourth-highest number of new projects (997) in 2022, an increase of 84 percent.
According to the report, the United States remained the largest host for announced seed projects and international project finance deals, followed by the United Kingdom, India, the United Arab Emirates, and Germany for new projects, and India, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Brazil for project financing deals. The report shows that the announced new investment projects increased by almost 70% in value in 2022 and the first destination for investment in new areas was Mexico, with 27 projects, followed by Turkey and the United Arab Emirates with 24 projects each.
