The President of the Qatar Chamber, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, stressed “the importance of developing trade cooperation between the Arab countries and Britain”, referring to "the strength of the Arab-British relations in various fields, especially economic and trade."
This came during his participation in the meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Office of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, which were held virtually via visual communication technology. They discussed ways to enhance trade relations between the United Kingdom and Arab countries and increase mutual investments. The role of the private sector in increasing the rates of trade exchange, in addition to the work plan for the year 2023, the financial performance report and the annual accounts for the fiscal year 2022, and the appointment of auditors.
Sheikh Khalif Al Thani considered that "the United Kingdom is one of the most important trading partners of the Arab countries, especially with the many mutual investments between the two sides in various sectors." Noting the results of the second Arab-British economic summit held in London early last month, which was a great success and discussed various issues that pave the way for further development in trade and economic relations between Britain and the Arab world.
He pointed out “the summit succeeded in forming a common vision on a number of issues, most notably the strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and the Arab countries, and how to reshape trade relations between the Arab and British sides in light of technological change and climate change of business priorities.”
