Kuwait ranked fourth in the Middle East and North Africa region and third in the Gulf after Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which maintained their regional ranking among the best cities to live in the region, according to a report by the “Economist Intelligence Unit”, an affiliate of the “Economist”.

Kuwait scored 72.1 points, thanks to the massive vaccination campaign against the “Covid-19” pandemic, which made it one of the safest cities in the region and the first to recover from the pandemic, while Bahrain ranked fifth in the region in the standard of living, followed by Muscat and Riyadh.

According to the "Economist Intelligence", the vaccination campaign has helped the UAE avoid comprehensive closures in 2021 and so far. Abu Dhabi and Dubai have remained largely open to business since the first wave of the pandemic in 2020, and the relatively rapid recovery was one of the reasons why the two cities ranked first and second, respectively.

As for the worst living cities in the region, Damascus came first, then Tripoli, and Algeria. Vienna was ranked as the best place to live in the world. It is the third time in the last 4 years, as it took the lead in 2018 and 2019, but fell to 12th place in 2021.
