President of Qatar Chamber Discusses Economic Cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman

The President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman, Asilah bint Salem bin Suleiman Al Samsamiyah, where they discussed strengthening economic cooperation, especially at the level of the private sector, and the role it can play in promoting investments and stimulating trade exchange and raising it to higher levels.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion affirmed that "The Sultanate of Oman will provide great incentives and benefits to Qatari investors wishing to work in the Sultanate." She pointed out that "There are great opportunities for investment in Oman, especially in the sectors of manufacturing, renewable energy, agriculture and others."

The President of Qatar Chamber praised the level of cooperation between the Qatari and Omani private sectors, which has witnessed significant growth in recent years, pointing out that “The trade exchange between Qatar and Oman amounted to about 4.5 billion riyals ($1.2 billion) in 2021, the Sultanate also topped the commercial partners of the Qatari private sector at the level of exports in the same year, according to the certificates of origin issued by the Qatar Chamber for Private Sector Exports.” He pointed out that "There are 200 Omani companies operating in the Qatari market with 100% Omani capital, in addition to 200 other Omani companies operating in Qatar in partnership with Qatari companies in various sectors, such as trade, contracting, services, hospitality, energy, maintenance and others."
