The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevin Gamea, revealed that the value of Egyptian non-oil exports increased to 32 billion dollars in 2021. She explained that this increase recorded a growth rate of 26.3 percent.
Gamea confirmed, during the Egyptian Cabinet meeting, that this figure is achieved for the first time in history, exceeding the average value of annual Egyptian exports during the period 2016-2020. She explained that the export rates witnessed a remarkable growth in 12 sectors, which accounted for 90 percent of the total structure of non-oil exports, with growth rates ranging between 5 percent and 62 percent.
During the meeting, the Minister presented the development of the performance of the export sectors during the past year, and the relative weight of the 12 largest sectors in Egypt, which are: Chemical products, fertilizers, building materials, food products, engineering and electronic goods, agricultural crops, ready-made garments, printing, paper and packaging, spinning and textile products, furnishings, medical industries, leather and shoes, furniture and handicrafts.
