Qatar Central Bank data showed an increase in the assets and liabilities of commercial banks, by the end of November, by about 3.9 billion riyals, compared to last October, to the level of 1795.1 billion riyals, with an annual increase of 142.3 billion riyals, or 8.6%. Compared to November 2020.
The total reserves of cash and balances with the Qatar Central Bank increased by the end of October by about 2.1 billion riyals, compared to the level of 96 billion riyals in October. While the balance was at the level of 79.8 billion riyals a year ago in November 2020.
As for foreign assets, the data showed an increase in credit granted by banks outside Qatar by about 0.39 billion riyals from October to reach 70.5 billion riyals, while it was at the level of 75.85 billion riyals a year ago in November 2020. While balances with banks abroad decreased by 8.65 billion riyals to 94.14 billion riyals, compared to 102.79 billion riyals last October. Investments abroad also increased by 120 million riyals in November to 57.68 billion, compared to 57.56 billion riyals last October.
The balance of cash in foreign currencies increased by 0.40 billion riyals to 9.26 billion riyals, compared to 8.86 billion riyals in October, while it was at 9.49 billion riyals a year ago.
