The Assets of Qatari Banks Increased by 9.6%

The data of Qatar Central Bank showed the stability of the volumes of commercial banks’ assets and liabilities at the end of September at the level of 1781.6 billion riyals, unchanged from last August, but with an annual increase of 156.7 billion riyals, or 9.6% compared to September 2020.

The total reserves of cash and balances with Qatar Central Bank decreased at the end of September by about 11.7 billion riyals from August to the level of 87.33 billion riyals, and the balance was at the level of 88.7 billion riyals a year ago in September 2020.

Balances with banks abroad rose by about 12.7 billion riyals to 98.4 billion riyals in September, compared to 85.07 billion riyals last August, but it was at 89 billion riyals a year ago in September 2020. While balances with banks inside Qatar decreased by 5 billion riyals to 51.9 billion riyals, compared to 56.87 billion riyals last August, and compared to 53.85 billion riyals a year ago in September 2020.

Local investments rose by about 12.4 billion riyals to 229.32 billion riyals, but with an increase of 32.18 billion riyals from September 2020, which amounted to 181.29 billion riyals. As for other assets, they decreased by about 0.68 billion riyals in September to 26.34 billion riyals, and it was at the level of 28.84 billion riyals a year ago in September 2020.
