Dr. Khaled Hanafy, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, held important talks with senior officials during his visit to Libya, where he met with: Eng. Ramadan Ahmed Boujenah, the Libyan Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hawij, Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, Libyan Minister of Housing & Construction, Muhammad Salem Al-Shahoubi, Minister of Transportation and Dr. Jamal Ali, head of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs.
This visit comes within the framework of developing the economic relations between the Arab countries, and in preparation for the 19th Conference of Arab Business Owners and Investors, which will be held in Tripoli on November 28 and 29 under the auspices of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, the Prime Minister of Libya. It is expected that more than 300 invited businessmen and officials from Arab unions and chambers, joint Arab and foreign chambers and a number of Islamic and international banks will attend the conference.
Hanafy also met with Mohamad Al Raiid, the Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, and Faraj Dribel, the President of Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
The discussions during the meeting focused on the role played by Tripoli Chamber in various fields, to contribute to the advancement of the commercial, industrial and agricultural movement in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and the return of development life.
They also emphasized during the meeting, the importance of developing the Arab-Arab and Arab-international relations, and the necessity of exchanging experiences, establishing various activities, and encouraging traders, capital, manufacturers and farmers to set up projects that serve the country and the citizen. Dr. Khaled Hanafy expressed his happiness at visiting the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and holding important talks with senior Libyan officials, noting that the meetings were very fruitful.
In turn, Al Raiid explained that "the 19th session of the Conference of Arab Businessmen and Investors will be held under the auspices of H.E. Abdel Hamid Al-Dabaiba, the Libyan Prime Minister and organized jointly by the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Libya, the Union of Arab Chambers, the League of Arab States, and Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group" noting that "in conjunction with this event, the Libyan International Investment Forum will be held in its first session with a joint organization of the same parties at the Radisson Blu Al Mahary Hotel, Tripoli, with wide Arab and international participation, in addition to ministers specialized in financial and economic affairs, and a large number of businessmen and investors from many countries. The Libyan International Investment Forum discusses the vision and plans for the reconstruction of infrastructure, public utilities and laws, the investment and opportunities available, as well as the prospects for key sectors such as oil and gas, energy, banking, telecommunications, real estate development, housing and healthcare projects.
