QCB’s Assets Grows by 10%

The data issued by Qatar Central Bank (QCB) showed a significant increase in the volume of commercial bank assets by the end of March, reaching about 43.5 billion riyals compared to last February, which means an increase of 159.6 billion riyals, and a 10 percent increase compared to March 2020, to reach the level of 1748.2 billion riyals.

According to the data, the total cash and balances with QCB increased by the end of March 2021 compared to last February by 1.48 billion riyals to the level of 90.79 billion riyals, noting that the balance is higher than it was in March 2020 by 17.4 percent, as it was 77.3 billion riyals.

The Qatari Central Bank reveals an increase in banks’ balances abroad in March by 21.50 billion riyals reaching to 110.91 billion riyals, while it was at the level of 89.41 billion riyals in February, and about 78.22 billion a year ago in March 2020. On the other hand, the credit granted by banks outside Qatar remained almost stable during the year and amounted to 74.9 billion riyals in March 2021, a slight increase compared to last February, and compared to 74.3 billion riyals in March 2020.
