Total foreign assets at the Central Bank of Oman increased by 8.1 percent, reaching 6 billion and 769 million and 500 thousand Omani riyals by the end of last October, compared to 6 billion and 262 million and 100 thousand Omani riyals at the end of October 2019.
By the end of last October, the cash in circulation reached about one billion and 790 million and 500 thousand Omani riyals, an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period in 2019, which witnessed issued cash (circulating) of one billion and 571 million and 100 thousand Omani riyals.
Local liquidity increased at the end of last October by 8.9 percent, reaching 19 billion and 90 million and 600 thousand Omani riyals, compared to 17 billion and 524 million and 900 thousand Omani riyals during the same period in 2019. Private sector deposits in commercial banks and Islamic financial institutions by the end of last October amounted to 16 billion and 394 million and 200 thousand Omani riyals, an increase of 9 percent compared to the same period in 2019 when the private sector deposits amounted to 15 billion 46 million and 300 thousand Omani riyals. On the other hand, total loans and financing in commercial banks and Islamic financial institutions increased by 2.2 percent, to reach 26 billion and 438 million and 500 thousand Omani riyals, compared to 25 billion and 872 million and 400 thousand Omani riyals.
