The data of the monthly bulletin issued by the Qatar Central Bank showed that total bank deposits (including private sector deposits, public sector deposits and non-resident deposits) increased in January 2020 by about 33.7 billion riyals compared to last December, to reach the level of 872.9 billion Rial.
According to the data, private sector deposits increased by 11.7 billion riyals to 379.5 billion, compared to 367.7 billion in December, and 358.2 billion a year ago.
Public sector deposits increased by about 5.3 billion to 278.4 billion riyals, compared to 273.1 billion riyals in December and 269.8 billion riyals a year ago and non-resident deposits increased by 6.8 billion to 215 billion riyals in December, while it was 161.6 billion a year ago. The facilities granted by the banks have also grown steadily, reaching in January 2019 to 1061 billion riyals from 1039.1 billion riyals in December, and 949.7 billion riyals a year ago.
