A report issued by the Bahraini Ministry of Finance and Economy revealed that the performance of the non-oil sector improved, recording a growth of about 2 percent at the end of last year (2019), compared to the same period in the previous year (2018).
The real growth of Bahrain's economy was 1.6 percent in the third quarter of 2019, compared to the growth of the second quarter of the same year, which amounted to 0.3 percent, according to the report. The indicators showed that the non-oil sectors continue to support the wheel of growth thanks to the accelerated pace in the implementation of infrastructure projects, which are expected to have a positive impact on the overall economic activity.
The transportation and communications sector topped the list of the most developed sectors with a rate of 6.4 percent during the third quarter of 2019 compared to the same period a year ago, followed by the hotel and restaurant sector with 6.3 percent and the manufacturing sector with 4.1 percent.
The financial projects sector topped the sectors contributing to the gross domestic product, at 17 percent of the GDP, followed by the manufacturing sector at about 15 percent, then the government services sector at about 11 percent.
