Inflation in Tunisia declined in November, stabilizing at 6.3 percent, compared with October which was at least 6.5 percent, from 6.7 percent registered in last September.
The National Statistical Institute of Tunisia attributed this slight decline to a decline of 6.3 percent in food and beverage prices, down from 6.6 percent. The pace of increase in transport services also declined from 3.4 percent to 2.9 percent. In contrast, prices of manufactured materials increased by 7.8 percent, driven by a 9.8 percent increase in the price of home maintenance and cleaning supplies and 8.1 percent in construction materials.
In the same context, the implicit inflation (inflation without calculating energy and food) during last month recorded 6.7 percent, compared to 6.8 percent in October, and 6.9 percent in September. Last month, household consumption index rose 0.4 percent compared to the previous month (October).
