Hong Kong topped the IMF's list of the 10 least-indebted countries in the world, with 0 percent, and the same percentage as Macao, both of which are administrative regions of the People's Republic of China.
Brunei came second, with 2.6 percent of GDP, followed by Afghanistan in the 3rd place with debt ratio of 6.9 percent. In fourth place, Estonia came in with a debt of 7.6 percent, while Botswana ranked fifth with a debt of 12.8 percent.
Russia ranked sixth among the world's 10 least-debt countries with 13.8 percent of GDP. Azerbaijan ranked ninth in terms of debt with 17.6 percent, while Kuwait came in tenth place with 17.8 percent, being the only Arab country in the list.
