The credit facilities of banks operating in Qatar increased by 36.5 billion riyals in April, recording a growth of 4% compared to the same period last year, bringing the total facilities granted by banks to 940.3 billion riyals in last April.
According to the consolidated monthly bulletin issued by the Central Bank of Qatar, the banks' assets grew by 4.09% in April to reach QR 1408.8 billion compared to QR 1353.3 billion during the same period of 2018. The increase in bank assets resulted from an increase of 12.5%, equivalent to 9.9 billion riyals.
The required banks’ reserve stood at QR 37.83 billion compared to April 2018, a rise of 3.8% compared to the previous month. The value of securities portfolio including debt instruments stood at QR 178.05 billion, representing an annual growth of 1.1%.
On the other hand, the assets of banks operating in Qatar recorded a decrease of 3% on a monthly basis compared to March 2019.
