President of the House of Representatives of Guinea-Bissau visits the headquarters of FCCIAL

Mr. Sibriano Kasama, the president of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, accompanied by two deputies of the Guinean Parliament, visited the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. He held a meeting with the President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers, Mohammed Choucair, in the presence of members of Lebanese economic bodies, and a number of Lebanese businessmen and the Consul of Guinea-Bissau in Lebanon, Mohammed Suleiman, where the discussion focused on ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

"Lebanon has a great interest in developing its economic relations with Guinea-Bissau, especially as small countries like us are looking for balanced relations that benefit both sides," Choucair stressed. He added, "more efforts should be made to develop bilateral economic relations at various levels, especially that there are many promising opportunities", pointing out to “the essential role that can be played by the Lebanese community in Guinea-Bissau to strengthen cooperation between the private sector in the two countries and identify projects that can be useful for joint work in the future."

For his part, Mr. Sibriano Kasama, the president of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of called on the Lebanese businessmen to invest in his country, which is rich in natural resources such as oil that has not been invested yet, phosphate, gold, cement and so on…" He also added that Guinea-Bissau has a great tourist potential with 82 islands, 22 of which are inhabited, and a very important marine and fish wealth."
