The Libyan oil revenues rose to $24.4 billion in 2018, up 78 percent from 2017, according to the National Oil Corporation, which reported an average daily production of 1.107 million bpd last year.
Eng, Mustafa Sanalla, the Chairman of National Oil Corporation (NOC), explained that "Libya, which last year achieved the largest increase in oil production in five years, aims to increase it more than doubling to 2.1 million bpd by 2021, provided security and stability are strengthened."
He also pointed out that "Libya currently produces 953 thousand barrels per day, which is less than the production capacity before the start of the war (1.6 million bpd", and called for "improving the security of workers to allow the resumption of production from the field of spark oil, and capacity 315 thousand barrels daily".
On December 8, armed tribal men, armed protesters & government guards controlled the field and demanded the payment of their salaries. Production from the field is expected to be reduced by 11,000 bpd when work is resumed after closures due to looting happening there.
