The Sudan Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that inflation in Sudan fell slightly to 68.44% year-on-year in October, from 68.64% in September due to lower prices on food and beverages.
The Red Sea State recorded the highest inflation rate at 97.86%, while Khartoum and North Kordofan states recorded the lowest inflation rates at 58.76% and 55.62%, respectively.
The agency attributed the monthly drop since August, to a decline in prices of food and beverages at 0.67 percent. Urban inflation rate also fell to 61.14% in October, compared to 62.81% in September. While rural inflation rose to 74.58% in October, compared to 73.49% in September.
The budget for the current year aims to keep inflation at 19.5%, with growth rate of 4% of GDP, compared with 4.4% in 2017.
