The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the deficit in the trade balance increased to reach US $4.10 billion in July 2018 compared with US $ 3.79 billion in July last year, an increase of 8.4 percent.
The value of exports increased by 8.9% to reach 2.23 billion dollars during the month of July compared to 2.05 billion dollars in the same month of last year due to the increase in the value of exports of some commodities, the most important of which are: crude oil by 15.9%, ready clothes by 12.0%, plastic by 46.8%, & petroleum products 58.6%).
On the other hand, the value of imports increased by 8.6% to reach 6.33 billion dollars compared to 5.84 billion dollars, due to the increase in the value of imports of some commodities, the most important of which (raw materials of iron or steel by 52.2%, petroleum products by 7.5% and cars by 71.8%).
