Egypt’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed that non-oil exports increased by 10 percent over the first eight months of this year reaching 16.54 billion dollars.
According to the Ministry, exports accounted for $16.54 billion between January and August, compared to $14.99 billion in the same period last year. Whereas, imports surged by 12 percent to attain $43.14 billion at the end of August compared to $38.35 billion in August 2017.
Trade exchanges with the rest of the world increased by 11.8 percent and attained 59.68 billion dollars, compared to 53.34 billion dollars during the same period last year, while it increased by 9 percent between Egypt and the Arab countries, and by 3.9 percent between Egypt and the European Union.
