Kuwait's Trade Surplus Rises by 116%

Kuwait’s Central Department of Statistics revealed that Kuwait’s trade surplus increased by 116.1 percent to reach $3.1 billion in May 2018, compared to a surplus of $1.43 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The trade surplus rose by 27.4 percent on a monthly basis, from $2.43 billion in April 2018.
According to the data, Kuwait's exports increased by 40.4 percent to attain $9.37 billion in May 2018 compared to $4.5 billion in the same month in 2017. As for Imports, they declined by 4 percent reaching $3.2 billion in May 2018, compared to $3.04 billion during the same period of the previous year.
