In conjunction with the celebrations of the World Food Safety Day (7 June 2020) and the International Day of Accreditation (9 June 2020), the Arab Initiative for Food Safety and Trade Facilitation (SAFE) with the Arab Accreditation Authority is organizing a joint event in the form of an online seminar entitled: “Promoting Best Practices in Establishing & Operating Regional Food and Feed Reference Test Laboratories", on Saturday (6 June) at 10 am Cairo time.

The webinar aims to review relevant experiences related to the operation of reference laboratories for food and feed analysis and the pivotal role of accreditation in order to contribute to drawing a vision to establish similar and effective reference structures in the Arab region, whether they are reference laboratories at the regional or even country level.

The symposium also aims to define the requirements required in terms of investments and technical support programs (specifically building technical capabilities) in order to enhance the availability of certified food/ feed analysis laboratories accredited in the Arab region.
