The Growth Rate of Bank Loans in Morocco Increased by 4.6 percent

The Central Bank of Morocco revealed an increase in the annual growth rate of bank loans directed to the non-financial sector, on an annual basis, from 3.9 percent to 4.6 percent during the month of July 2022. According to Bank Al-Maghrib, this development was marked by an increase in loans granted to families by 3.6 percent after 3.3 percent, and loans granted to private non-financial companies by 7.3 percent after 6.3 percent.

According to Bank Al-Maghrib, this development was marked by an increase in loans granted to families by 3.6 percent after 3.3 percent, loans granted to private non-financial companies by 7.3 percent after 6.3 percent, and a slowdown in the decline in equipment loans by 2.1 percent after 2.5 percent, in addition to a slowdown in the growth of consumption loans from 3.2 to 2.8 percent. With regard to non-performing debts, their annual growth rate moved from 4.8 percent in June to 6.4 percent in July, with a rate of 8.8 percent.

Bank loans directed to the non-financial sector increased by 0.6 percent, with an increase in treasury facilities by 1.4 percent, and in equipment and consumer loans by 0.1 percent, and a decrease of 0.4 percent for real estate loans.
