Oman Plans to Attract 11.7 Million Tourists & Raise the Level of Employment

H.H. Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman, affirmed while presiding the Omani cabinet meeting, that "the file of providing job opportunities for citizens looking for work is a top national priority and comes at the top of the government's work priorities," stressing "the need to make more efforts to help the job seekers in order to obtain a suitable job or profession in various sectors.”

His Highness referred to the package of initiatives that were announced to provide job opportunities through the launch of the National Employment Program, which is one of the most important national programs emanating from the "Oman Vision 2040", and enjoys continuous follow-up, noting that "the program will work to find sustainable solutions to provide jobs in all state sectors and private sector companies will also work on analyzing the data of job seekers until they enter the labor market.”

For his part, the Omani Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrooqi, affirmed that “VisitOman.om’s initiative comes in implementation of an ambitious promotional plan that aims to make the Sultanate of Oman one of the exceptional destinations due to its competitive advantages,” noting that “the platform will be a vital factor in enhancing the Sultanate’s vision which is devoted to raising the rate of local and international investments in the tourism sector, and attracting 11.7 million tourists by 2040, of whom 5 million are international tourists.”
