Sameer Nass: The Gulf Economy is Diversified & Ranks 12th Globally

Sameer Nass, the Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and President of the Federation of Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, affirmed that "the size of the Gulf economy reached 1.6 trillion dollars in 2019, and it comes in the 12th place globally," adding that "the volume of Gulf government spending amounts to 560 billion dollars annually".

Nass’s words came during a speech at the opening session of Greece – GCC Countries e-Business Gathering under the theme “Shared Visions”, which was held via video communication technology, and organized by the Arab – Hellenic Chamber and under the auspices of the Union of Arab Chambers and in cooperation and coordination with the Federation of the Council of Gulf Chambers and the Federations and Chambers of Commerce in the Gulf region.

Nass pointed out that "the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council attract investments annually exceeding $20 billion of total global investments, thanks to their progress in human development and business facilitation and attracting investments indicators."

He stressed that "the GCC countries have a diversified economy that creates hundreds of attractive business opportunities in the industrial, agricultural, commercial and tourism fields, in addition to the green economy and the knowledge economy, which the Gulf states have allocated tens of billions of dollars for their development."
