Kuwaiti Islamic Banks are the Largest in the World

Seven Kuwaiti Islamic banks ranked high on the list of "The Asian Banker" magazine of the 100 largest Islamic banks by assets around the world. Whereas Kuwait Finance House "KFH" came in third place globally and first locally in the list with assets amounting to 66.78 billion dollars. Islamic Maybank, the largest Islamic bank in Asia, ranked fourth, and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt came first in Africa and 36th globally, with total assets of $6.8 billion.

Boubyan Bank ranked 16th in the world with assets of $19.89 billion, Ahli United Bank of Kuwait ranked 22nd with assets of $ 14.36 billion, then Warba Bank in 25th place with assets of $11.02 billion, Kuwait International Bank ranked 30th with assets amounting to $8.91 billion, and "KFH - Bahrain" & “KFH-Malaysia” in the 48th and 65th, with assets of $4.4 billion and $2.02 billion respectively.

The total assets of the seven Kuwaiti banks amounted to about $127.44 billion, or 12.4 percent of the total assets of the banks included in the "Asian Banker" list.

While Maybank, the largest Islamic bank in Asia, ranked fourth in the ranking, and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt ranked first in Africa and ranked 36 globally, with total assets of $6.8 billion.

The total assets of Islamic banks on the list reached $1.03 trillion, compared to $903.9 billion in the previous year's assessment.
