Chairman of Qatar Chamber Discusses Strengthening Trade & Investment Cooperation with Sudan

During his visit to Qatar, the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan met H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani, the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of Qatari businessmen, where they discussed ways to strengthen trade and investment cooperation relations, and the role of the private sector in promoting investment and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Al-Burhan explained that "the current visit to the State of Qatar will have an important role in strengthening the cooperation relations, and a good opening for more cooperation between the two countries," calling on the Qatari businessmen to "Invest in Sudan", pointing out that "there are many Qatari investments in Sudan, and we have the desire to expand it," explaining that "Sudan is currently witnessing the development of economic and investment laws, in order to facilitate the procedures for foreign investors."

In turn, the Chairman of Qatar Chamber indicated that "Sudan has been and continues to be the focus of attention of the Qatari investors and business owners," noting that "there are many successful Qatari investments in Sudan in the fields of electricity, food security and others. Noting that it is expected that the coming period will witness more Qatari investments in Sudan, which has many potentials and capabilities that attract foreign investment, especially in the field of food security.”
