Suspension of Negotiations Between Lebanon and the "IMF"

Lebanese Minister of Finance Ghazi Wazni revealed that negotiations with the International Monetary Fund are pending, waiting for the start of reforms by Lebanon as soon as possible, and agreeing to a unified approach to numbers, pointing out that until the resumption of negotiations’ rounds "I will remain in constant consultation and communication with the Fund."

Wazni explained, that what is being worked on today is determining the losses and their size in all sectors, stressing that "we have to come up with a unified approach agreed upon with all political forces and in coordination between the government and the parliament, because time no longer allows delay and we must agree as soon as possible".

The Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab asserted, at the beginning of the cabinet session that was held yesterday on the impact of the exchange rate of the lira or the dollar, the threshold of ten thousand pounds, that "the dollar game has become open," noting that "they are calling us for reform, and in return they give protection and immunity to the corrupt, and they prevent us from obtaining the looted money files."

He asked: "Has this government become powerless, its role over and we lost the confrontation?"
